DAVID CUNNINGHAM Flute, Percussion, Piano
BA, Music Education and Psychology, DePaul University, Chicago.
Studied percussion with James Kilcran and Phil Stanger at The Chicago School of Music.
Studied flute privately with Josef Zverov.
Has played professionally for over 40 years and has extensive private teaching experience
in the Chicago area. David has been teaching at the Schaumburg Academy of Music
since its inception.
JAMIE HATTEN, Piano
A graduate of Northwestern University, Jamie is a vibrant
individual who is dedicated to her love of music. She is also completing
her teaching certification and bringing music to the scientific classroom.
Jamie has been teaching piano since 2002. "Teaching piano is something that
I truly enjoy and look forward to every time!"
Jamie is involved in a musical group called The Spoony Bards.
The group visits various conventions where they boast their ability to
provide musical entertainment for 40+ hours each weekend.
MARCUS HOSTETLER, Tuba, Baritone, Trombone, Music Theory,
Brass Ensemble
Marcus is currently working on his music education degree at Northeastern Illinois University.
He has studied with Mike Hogg for three years and Melissa Williams from Butler University for
four years. Marc has studied the tuba for eight years, baritone for ten years,
and trombone for five years.
He is a member of the NEUI brass ensemble,
the NEUI tuba trio called "threeba" and The Logos Brass Quintet.
He has recently helped the Lake Park Marching Band in Roselle.
He has also played in the Indianapolis youth Orchestra.
SUZANNE LA BELLE, Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello
B.S. Music Education, University of Illinois.
Suzanne has taught in private and public schools in Chicago for a number of years.
She has played the violin and viola in various orchestras including The Chicago Little Symphony,
The Alaskan Music Festival Orchestra, The Fish Creek Wisconsin Orchestra,
and as an extra in The Lyric Opera Orchestra.
She continues to play in various local orchestras.
Suzanne is a member of the Chicago Musicians Union.
ASHLEY JOHNSON, Voice
Ashley Johnson believes in fulfilling the musical dreams of every student. She is a graduate of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and
is furthering her education at DePaul University School of Music.
Ashley has been studying voice for over ten years. She teaches opera, choral music and music theater. Ashley was section leader of the Wheaton College Concert Choir,
and has portrayed Belle (Beauty and the Beast) and Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz) with the au Clair Children's Theater.
Ashley served as Music Coordinator at Collage Church in Wheaton.
MARCUS JULIAN, Oboe

DAN MILLER, Clarinet, Saxophone
B.A., Business Music, Elmhurst College.
Dan has taught at the Schaumburg Academy of Music since 1999.
His main instrument is the clarinet, which he has studied since he was ten years old.
He has studied this instrument with Rose Sperazza at Harper College and Gail Crosson at
Elmhurst College.
He has performed with the Harper College Wind Symphony, the Harper College Chamber Winds,
the Palatine Concert Band, the Elmhurst College Concert Band, the Elmhurst College Clarinet Quartet
and the Classical Symphony Orchestra of Chicago. He works full time as the Education
Manager at the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
CAROLYN RUNDELL, Cello
B.A. Music Business Music, Illinois State University.
M.M. Ed Suzuki Cello Pedagogy, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.
Carolyn holds a Suzuki teacher registration for Early Childhood Education and
is pursuing a Kindermusik certification.
She taught cello to several long term students and worked in several school and non-school
orchestras. She was a Suzuki student as a child and feels it is important to uphold the principles
and values of Suzuki teaching.
ROBERT SICKLESTEEL, Guitar
Robert Sicklesteel began his classical guitar studies at The Schaumburg Academy of Music under Brad Conroy.
He then went on to study guitar with Steve Suvada. Robert received his B.A. from Illinois State University
in May 2008. While at ISU he studied under Dr. Angelo Favis. Robert also participated in the
Mid America Guitar Ensemble Festival. Robert enjoys playing and teaching a wide variety of styles of guitar.
KATHRYN TOFILON, Piano, Violin, Viola
Kathryn is a music education major at Elgin Community College. She is completing her Associates in Arts degree,
and will soon transfer to further her Bachelor of Arts in music education. Kathryn studied piano 1998. She began teaching in 2009.
Her passion is music and she is truly dedicated to each student she teaches.
MARIANNE ZEH-JARVIS, Piano
M.A., Special Education/Social & Emotional, Disturbed, Northeastern Illinois University;
B.M. in Piano/Music Education,DePaul University.
Additionally, Marianne has post-graduated studies in organ performance.
She is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Northwest Suburban
Music Teachers Association, National Music Teachers Association, Illinois
Music Association, American Guild of Organists, National Pastoral Musician,
American Choral Directors Association, and the Choristers Guild.
Marianne has taught in public and private schools, pre-school through high school
for over 18 years. She also has taught private piano students for over 30 years.
Additionally, she has been the organist/choral director for a number of churches and
is a member of The Upbeats.
Marianne has been named in the 2004, 2005, & 2006 editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
This award is given to teachers who lead, inspire, and demand excellence.
In order to receive the award, a teacher must be nominated by a student from the
Who's Who Among America's High School Students.
