computer software, each student will interactively learn the notes on the staff, how to count,
and some basic keyboard skills.

Beginner (no prerequisites)

Beginning students will learn to read music effectively, in both treble and bass clefs.  The
concepts of tempo, key signature, time signature, and counting will be introduced.  Students
will also learn some basic keyboard skills.  Practical Musica will be the primary software.

Students will learn about the theory and sounds involved in creating music.  The basics of
functional harmony, the theory of major and minor scales and chords, and some ear training

According to individual experience, students will be taught keyboard skills.  Practica Musica
will be the primary software for basic theory and beginning ear training.

theory.

apply this knowledge to personal compositions.  Practica Musica and Finale will be the
